From Local Junior to Tour Pro: Hannah Screen’s Centurion Homecoming

For most players on the Ladies European Tour, the life of a professional golfer is defined by transient hotel rooms, reclaimed time zones, and the constant search for a home rhythm on the road. But for Hannah Screen, the upcoming $2M Prize fund, PIF London Championship at Centurion Club (August 6–9), organised by Golf Saudi, is a rare, cherished departure from that cycle.

"The Centurion Club is familiar to me," Screen says. "I practice here constantly, across every season. Being able to stay at home and enjoy those home comforts, the ones you don't get when you're grinding out on tour, is an incredible luxury."

Representing Centurion Club as an ambassador is not just a professional appointment for Screen; it is a full-circle moment. Her journey began just down the road, where she attended school and played her very first competition at the age of seven. Returning to that same soil as a professional brings a profound sense of responsibility. "It’s special to represent this area. I hope to see young juniors in the gallery enjoying golf the same way I would have at that age. If I can be the person that shows them what’s possible, then I’ve done my job."

Now in her third year on tour, Screen’s perspective has shifted. The early years of professional golf can be a whirlwind, but Screen has anchored herself in patience. "I’ve learned that you have to trust the process and know that your hard work will pay off. Being on tour is a constant classroom; every week teaches you something new about travel, about managing friendships, and about effectively running your own business. You have to treat yourself as a CEO as much as an athlete."

That maturity was forged during her time in the United States, a period she credits with accelerating her personal and professional growth. The experience provided the space to become responsible and self-reliant, skills that have been vital to her seamless transition into the demands of life on the LET.

As she prepares for the PIF London Championship, Screen is not altering her game plan to chase the pressure. Instead, she is focused on her role as a modern ambassador for the sport. "I don’t think my approach to the tournament changes because I’m at home. I want to keep connecting with people in the industry and, more importantly, inspiring younger golfers."

In an era where golf is being reshaped by social media, Screen is a vocal advocate for the integrity of the game. She sees golf not just as a scorecard, but as a vehicle for essential life skills and transformative opportunities. Her advice to the next generation is simple, yet radical: "Enjoy the game and play to your strengths. Don't look around at what others are doing, their swing, their clothes, their gear. Just go out, have fun, and be the best version of yourself."

As the world’s elite field descends on Centurion Club, Hannah Screen will be walking the fairways of her youth, no longer as a seven-year-old dreaming of the future, but as a professional golfer.
